GET IT RIGHT
How to get your parathas right
If you are a beginner at making parathas, here’s how you should proceed:
-
Start by preparing the paratha with only half the amount of stuffing.
-
Roll the dough into 4-5 inch diameter discs.
-
Place 2 tbsp of filling.
-
Gather the outer edges of the disc and bring them together like a potli purse, holding the stuffing in place and pinching the edges to seal and create a flattened disc.
-
With lightly oiled fingers, and not a rolling pin, flatten the disc further with the least amount of pressure until you have a 6-8 inch diameter. This way you are guaranteed not tear the dough or squeeze out the stuffing from the paratha.
-
Cook on low heat so that the paratha cooks evenly from both sides. Happy cooking!
